Promises

1 John 5:18-19 NIV
[18] We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the One who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm them. [19] We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.
"Protect us Lord!"

---
1 John 5:14-15 NIV
[14] This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. [15] And if we know that he hears us---whatever we ask---we know that we have what we asked of him.
"Please speak truth to us through your Spirit, guard our hearts, and multiply our faith"

Merciful God

My God has mercy on me. He knows that I came from dust.

Psalm 62:5-7 [8]
Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. [Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.]

Watching and Waiting

Mark 13:33 (NIV)
Be on guard! Be alert ! You do not know when that time will come.
Every morning, as soon as my eyes open, I climb atop the wall. Because I know Him and miss Him walking through my city and encouraging my kids and those I love, I am Eagerly watching and waiting for his return. I know he is close because He told me before He left things to watch for that would signal His soon return. Besides the "signs of the times", the words that speak to me most and let me know that He is on his way are;
Luke 21:29-32 (NIV)
He told them this parable: “Look at the fig tree and all the trees. [30] When they sprout leaves, you can see for yourselves and know that summer is near. [31] Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that the kingdom of God is near. [32] “Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.
The fig tree Jesus is speaking of is a reference to Israel. When he spoke these words over 2000 years ago, Israel was still a nation. So this parable probably confused the disciples. When Jesus stoke these words, the Jews had their temple and occupied Isreal.
About 40 years later, Rome would come to Jerusalem to squash a revolt and tear down the Jewish temple..
(See Luke 21:6 (NIV)
“As for what you see here, the time will come when not one stone will be left on another; every one of them will be thrown down.”
)
... and disperse the Jews.
....
......
The rebirth of Israel as an independent nation in 1948 is one of the most significant events in world history. Never before has an entire race of people been without a homeland for so long without assimilating into surrounding populations.
In 1948, the Fig Tree was planted. Israel has been blossoming ever since!
Read this again..
Mark 13:28-30 says the same.
Wake up people! Our Lord is returning soon! Keep watch and be ready to welcome him. When he arrives there will be two groups, those who celebrate, and those who mourn. Which group will you be in?

Speechless.....almost

My Lord and my God!
Thank You! I.. am.. so.. sorry..! If I would have lived in Jesus' day, I pray that I would have recognized Him. But I know without the Holy Spirit, it is doubtful. Lord, thank you.... I love you and I try to follow you and thank and praise you daily for what you did, and that you didn't leave us at the cross, but came back to encourage us and let us know that we are forgiven, and that through Your Spirit, you walk with us daily and give us the strength and power to walk with You. I don't know how you made it to the finish, but I thank you. When I look at why You came, and how we treated you, and how you maintained to the end, I fall to my knees with thankfulness and humility. Thank You Lord Jesus is all I can say. Search my heart and know how grateful I am and how I want to know You more and more. I know that I walk in the Spirit that you sent to me. I ask you to reveal yourself to me day after day. You formed Adam from dust, I am Your clay. Mold me to the shape you want me to be. Make me more like you. Thank you Lord Jesus! Thank you!
Isaiah 52:13-15 NIV
[13] See, my servant will act wisely ; he will be raised and lifted up and highly exalted. [14] Just as there were many who were appalled at him---his appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any human being and his form marred beyond human likeness--- [15] so he will sprinkle many nations, and kings will shut their mouths because of him. For what they were not told, they will see, and what they have not heard, they will understand.
Isaiah 53:1-12 NIV
[1] Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? [2] He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. [3] He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem. [4] Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. [5] But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. [6] We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. [7] He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth. [8] By oppression and judgment he was taken away. Yet who of his generation protested? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was punished. [9] He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth. [10] Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the Lord makes his life an offering for sin, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand. [11] After he has suffered, he will see the light of life and be satisfied ; by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities. [12] Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Keeping Watch

Isaiah 17:1-3 NIV
[1] A prophecy against Damascus: “See, Damascus will no longer be a city but will become a heap of ruins. [2] The cities of Aroer will be deserted and left to flocks, which will lie down, with no one to make them afraid. [3] The fortified city will disappear from Ephraim, and royal power from Damascus; the remnant of Aram will be like the glory of the Israelites,” declares the Lord Almighty.

Does that remind you of anything that 's going on in the world today?  Watchmen, head to the towers.

Luke 9:25 NIV
[25] What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self?
